The province of Ávila will host from September 1 to 6, 2019 the first international congress that CIPA-ICOMOS holds in Spain after twenty-seven editions, with an attendance of about half a thousand experts in cultural heritage conservation from the point of scientific view

CIPA was founded in 1968 as the International Committee of Architectural Photogrammetry (in English: “International Committee of Architectural Photogrammetry”). Over time, this committee gradually became an organization that applied technology from measurement, visualization and computer science to the benefit of registering, conserving and documenting cultural heritage in all its possible forms. Therefore, its original name was replaced by CIPA Heritage Documentation.

To date, CIPA Heritage Documentation is a dynamic international organization that has two responsibilities: keeping up with technology and ensuring its usefulness for the conservation, education and dissemination of cultural heritage.

The organization tries to achieve these two conflicting objectives in several ways, through:

• Encourage and promote the development of principles and good practices for the registration, documentation and management of cultural heritage information.

• Leading and participating in international conservation training programs.

• Advise government agencies, regional authorities, nonprofit groups and institutions on tools, technology and methods to use technology.

• Sponsoring an international network of professionals in the fields of technology and cultural heritage for scientific research, but also applying practical experience.

• Providing a platform with semiannual conferences for the exchange of ideas, best practices and scientific research work.

Its parent organizations are the International Council of Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) and the International Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing.

ICOMOS, International Council of Monuments and Sites, is a worldwide non-governmental organization associated with UNESCO. Its mission is to promote the conservation, protection, use and development of monuments, buildings and sites. Participates in the development of the doctrine, the evolution and dissemination of thought, also carries out promotional activities.

It is the advisory body of the World Heritage Committee for the implementation of the UNESCO World Heritage Convention. As such, it examines the nominations for the cultural assets of the world heritage of humanity and ensures with its supervision the conservation status of the registered assets. ICOMOS has gradually built the philosophical and doctrinal framework of heritage at the international level.

The Fair that will take place in September will feature Esri Spain, which is one of the sponsors of this event in which new topics will be discussed in the field of new technologies applied to 3D reconstruction and visualization of Architecture and architecture. Heritage, as well as the University of Salamanca.

As a silver sponsor, the event will include, for example, the Pecsa Foundation, Open Access or eCapture3D, an Extremadura company created in 2017 based in Badajoz that specializes in the online generation of 3D content in the cloud, from photographs taken with any device, for all types of users. This is achieved by working with

Among its fields of application are construction, technology, industry, safety, engineering, among others, however, eCapture3D has also achieved an important presence in archeology, for example, thanks to the recreation of the necropolis, bone remains found, etc.

The eCapture3D proposal involves the democratization of access to 3D technology quickly and easily, you only need to follow 3 steps: take photos or videos around the object, upload them to and wait for the model to be generated. And this proposal can be exhibited following the program of the event through talks, where it will show its own product and will have the possibility to teach its usefulness and procedure in addition to addressing the questions that arise.
